The Story
The Berkowits School, was founded in 1978. Since then, we have trained electrolysis students from all over the world. In 2006, we started a training course for Laser Hair Removal. It was the first program in New York to be approved and licensed by the State Education Department. We train our students with 7 different lasers. In 2014, we expanded our facility offering a course in Esthetics. Together, we are the only school in New York that offers these three separate programs.
Esthetics School New York
Our Esthetics School, teaching the latest in skincare techniques, proudly serves the New York area including Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island, The Bronx, Westchester, and both Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum consists of two parts:
Theory – to be completed in 207 hours that includes:
- Health and safety
- Bacteriology
- Anatomy, Physiology and Nutrition
- Structure and functions of the skin
- Superfluous hair
- Chemistry
- Chemistry as applied to cosmetics
- Electricity and machines
- Business practices
- Job skills
- Introduction to paramedical esthetics
Practice – to be completed in 393 hours that includes:
- Facial treatments
- Make-up techniques
- Waxing
- State board preparation
